| Deciding What's Important | |||||
The first step towards living a Purpose-Driven Life is to prioritize the values that matter most, .....then bring my life into harmony with what I believe matters most. Look at what has been driving your life so far. "Pay close attention to how you live... not as unwise but as wise." Ephesians 5:15 Believe that God has a purpose for your life. "God is our Maker, and in our union with Christ, He has created us for a life of good works, .....which He has already prepared for us to do." Ephesians 2:10 Accept / Receive God's Son into your life. "Long ago, even before He made the world, God choose us to be His very own through what Christ would do for us... His unchanging plan has always been to adopt us into His own family by sending Jesus Christ to die for us. And He did this because He wanted to!" Ephesians 1:4-5 Are you ready to get started? The first step toward a purpose-driven life is to prioritize your values, .....then evaluate your life and bring it into harmony with what you believe is important. Why should I do this? Because my values affect- My Stress: James 1:8 My Success: Proverbs 4:23 My Salvation: Mark 8:36 Your Values affect your life! How can you lay a foundation of values for a purpose-driven life? Focus on things that matter! Values come from environment, media, parents and peers. Choose the source of your values. Where will I get my values? The world or the Word??? "Don't love the world's ways... the lust for physical pleasure, the ambition to buy, everything that appeals to you, and the pride that comes from wealth and importance... these are not from God but from the world." 1 John 2:15 Clarify what is important. "... We should choose to follow what is right. But first we must define what is good." Job 34:3-4 Change your life style to what's important. "Turn my eyes away from worthless things in life..." Psalm 119:37 "Stop going along with the mindless crowd... That's no life for you.. Get rid of it! Then take on an entirely new way of life... a God-fashioned life, renewed from the inside and working out into your conduct, as God reproduces His character in you." Ephesians 4:17-24 "I can do everything God asks me to to with the help of Christ who gives me .....the strength and power." Philippians 4:13 Check your values daily. It's easy to get way off course with a small deviation daily. Keep your life on course! "Guard your affections. They influence everything else in your life." Proverbs 4:23 ..... The Things you love affect your life! "Keep a close watch on all you do and think. Stay true to what is right and God will bless you and use you to help others." 1 Timothy 4:6 "Some have missed the most important thing in life... They don't know God." 1 Timothy 6:21 |
